Seal of Good Local Governance
The City of Ilagan takes great pride in being a recipient of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for eight (8) times, a recognition widely regarded as the “Mother of All Awards” in local governance. This prestigious seal, conferred by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), is awarded only to local government units that exemplify excellence and integrity across multiple governance areas.
This achievement is a direct result of the steadfast leadership and tireless efforts of our beloved Mayor Josemarie L. Diaz, whose vision, dedication, and commitment to transparent and accountable governance have consistently guided Ilagan towards excellence.
To attain the SGLG, a city must pass stringent criteria covering financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, business-friendliness and competitiveness, peace and order, environmental management, health, education, and youth development. Securing this award consistently affirms Ilagan’s unwavering pursuit of people-centered governance—setting a benchmark of excellence not only in the region but in the entire country.
